Common questions

Widget not showing on my product page?

Make sure you've added the Shipping Estimate block to your theme. Go to your Shopify admin > Online Store > Themes > Customize, then navigate to a product page template and add the "Shipping Estimate" app block.

Shipping rates are wrong or outdated?

ShipEstimate caches your shipping zones for performance. If you've recently changed your shipping rates in Shopify, go to Settings in the ShipEstimate app and click "Sync shipping zones" to refresh the cached data.

Customer location is detected incorrectly?

IP-based geolocation is not always exact, especially for VPN users or mobile networks. Customers can always change their location using the dropdown in the widget. This is by design.

Estimated shipping cost differs from checkout?

ShipEstimate shows the cheapest applicable shipping rate for the customer's country based on the product price. The actual checkout cost may differ based on the full cart contents, weight, and any discounts. The widget clearly labels these as estimates.

Does it work on the cart page?

Yes! Add the 'Shipping Estimate (Cart)' block to your cart page template in the theme editor. It uses the actual cart total for rate calculation. Note: cart drawers (slide-out carts) are not supported — only the full cart page.

How do I upgrade or change my plan?

Go to the Plans page in the ShipEstimate app (accessible from the navigation menu). You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time. All billing is handled through Shopify.

How it works

Shipping rates

ShipEstimate reads your existing Shopify shipping zones and rates automatically. No carrier API or manual configuration needed — just sync your zones in the app settings.

Free shipping progress bar

To enable the free shipping progress bar, add a $0 shipping rate with a minimum price condition in your Shopify shipping settings (Settings → Shipping and delivery). For example: "Free shipping on orders over $70". ShipEstimate detects this threshold automatically. Learn how to set up free shipping.

Delivery date estimates

Delivery dates are calculated from your processing time plus per-zone transit days. You can configure transit days per shipping zone, skip weekends (business days mode), set an order cutoff time for same-day processing, and add blackout dates for holidays. All of these are available in the app Settings page.

Widget language

The widget auto-detects your store's language and displays UI text in the matching language (English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean). You can also set a specific language in Settings. Custom message templates always override translations.
